NU's Tutoring Program

Our dedicated tutors empower students with personalized support and proven strategies, building confidence and fueling academic success. But we can do more. Imagine interactive, dynamic learning experiences where tutors can help students understand challenging and complex concepts by providing them with more real-world examples and engaging online content!

This year, your generosity will fund digital whiteboards for our main tutoring areas, enabling tutors and students to write, draw, and interact with online content, combining the features of a traditional whiteboard with the technology of a computer. Tutors can even share the content with their students for continued review. One of our current General Chemistry tutors shared her thoughts about using a digital whiteboard:

“For Gen Chem tutoring, we use whiteboards all the time to break down tough math problems. I believe getting a smartboard would make tutoring sessions go even smoother. It would allow us to save and share our work with the tutees, spend less time writing questions and more time solving them, and bring in digital diagrams or videos to help explain concepts!”
