Hey there! I'm Amy Nwora, Dean of the College of Education at Niagara University, and I believe education transforms lives. By supporting Niagara's mission, you're not just donating—you're investing in futures, breaking barriers, and creating opportunities. Let's make magic happen together!
The College of Education is committed to developing skilled, ethical, educational leaders who advocate for positive change by learning, leading, and serving students, families, schools, and communities; especially those who are disadvantaged or marginalized.
Recently we have added a track to our Master’s Degree in special education to enable individuals in other fields to transition to teaching and receive certification to teach students with disabilities in all grade levels.
The funds donated to the College of Education through the Day of Giving have been used to bridge the gaps not covered by traditional financial aid as candidates pursue their professional degrees. Last year we helped a teacher candidate secure temporary housing to escape a domestic violence situation. We have previously used funds to pay for Uber gift cards for an economically challenged candidate who did not have transportation to reach his field placement. We also helped purchase professional clothing for a graduate candidate so she could attend interviews for a school counseling position that not only changed her life, but will change the lives of young people well into the future.
Niagara University features five exceptional colleges in Lewiston, NY and one in Vaughan, Ontario that are focused on intensive learning in the classroom while also offering experiential learning opportunities outside the classroom. Combining both methods is proven to transform our Purple Eagles from being students to being outstanding professionals in the career of their choice. Please consider supporting our colleges found in the "Funds" tab.
